Michael S

Frankenstein as interpreted by Michael Sutherland. In the novel Frankenstein, the theme "Life at all Cost" is shown how Victor Frankenstein strives for the creation of life. However, Frankenstein was so blinded by following through in his creation he did not see the consequences, or cost that could be made. When Victor Frankenstein says "at a sacrifice of my family and friends" (Shelly 89), he is truly obsessed with seeking the creation of life that he puts his own family and friends life's at cost. In my opinion I don't think Frankenstein's strive for the creation of life was worth it. His creation ended the lives of people very close to him, and left him with nothing but loneliness.

Today, athletes all over the world are injecting substances into their body that make them produce better results in the games. Such as Mark McGuire did in baseball when he took steroids. He was so caught up in the fact that he wanted to be the best player and hit the most home runs that he physically hurt his body by putting illegal substances to make him better. Mark McGuire's obsession with being the best player in baseball, hurt him in the long run, when he got caught and was not excepted into the Hall of Fame.

I find it so disappointing that athletes would do literally anything to be the best.
