Life pursued at all costs is a perfect theme to the book The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde . Dr. Jekyll wanted to separate good and evil from the human soul. He would try anything possible to get this done. Eventually he created a potion that would make this possible. Dr. Jekyll wanted to pursue his life goal before anything else in his life. After making the potion, Dr. Jekyll drank it himself. When he drank the potion, he turned into a homicidal pyscho named Mr. Hyde. "Although I had now two characters as well as two appearances, one was wholly evil, and the other was still the old Henry Jekyll". In the body of Mr. Hyde, Dr. Jekyll literally just lived his life to the fullest (in a bad way). The potion took out the evil side of him. As Mr. Hyde, Dr. Jekyll thought he could do anything he wanted to. He started a lot of violence in society. In the movie, he abused a waitress, and thought he could get away with it. In the book he killed a person. He was so obsessed with the potion and it was all for satisfying his pleasures. Eventually he got himself into to much trouble, and that led him to his death.
Today, professional athletes do whatever they can to be the best. There is so much pressure on athletes in all levels, High School, College, and the Pros. They have to please their coaches, fans, and friends. Sometimes to get this done, athletes take an extreme measures, by taking steroids or performance enhancing drugs. These drugs could be very harmful to the bodies of athletes. Although, athletes know it is not good for their health, they still take these drugs just to get their main goal accomplished. Which is not the right thing to do.
